Absolutely loved the new Ghostbusters! Kate Mckinnon was just packed full of unique, bizarre personality, much like Bill murray's Peter Venkman. Jillian Holtzmann has a fearless, honest, crazy about her that really makes for a killer cool character. When those credits rolled (stay after the credits!) I said to myself "i gotta draw her when I get home!" like many things that inspire me to wanna draw them, she had it comin'!
"Cavalcade of color"
The opening of my show "Cavalcade of color", with local Charleston artist Patch Whisky friday was a huge success. Thanks to Redux contemporary art center, Stacy Huggins and Greg Colleton for all there help and the opportunity and my good friend Patch! The show will be up untill August 22nd. these are a few shots from the show!

Caricatures @ Edmund's Oast
I've been doing caricatures on the weekends at Edmund's Oast, Charleston's newest brew pub, for about 3 weeks now and it's so much fun. It's great practice. The ultimate life drawing experience. Quickness, likeness and character, are all these things I think of when I approach a group or individual. I let everyone know that sitting should be fun. They should laugh and be natural while chatting and sipping on their delicious beverages. Rather than supreme realism I go for personality, a stylized fun quirky version of yourself! Being natural and relaxing is important for extracting the elements needed to get a great caricature!
